We love working with theatre groups, large and small. Here are a few of the multitude of production photos we delivered for WCT’s production of Annie.
Inspired by the music and story of Russian composer Sergi Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf (written in 1936), this adaptation includes the idea of a play within a play. The beloved children’s tale is set in the Russian countryside during the early 20th century and features a significant life lesson about the importance of following directions. Campy, bloody, and all-around awesome – that’s what you can expect if you’ve never seen Evil Dead The Musical. We enjoyed dress rehearsal so much during our promo shoot that we attended the show not once but twice with clients!

We were recently contracted by CATCO to photograph some rehearsals and live performances of their Be A Part of Art program. Here are just a few photos from the various staged readings.
Last month we attended a Cbusr meetup as our sister company, GroovyDoodle Photography. Our friend and fellow blogger Cheryl Harrison pulled the event together at Woodland’s Tavern, where GroovyDoodle had also recently shot a few ringlight headshots for the SXSW Bon Voyage party. The Cbusr event was much larger, and resulted in us taking over the main stage where we captured about 150 unique professional headshots, which we then posted for everyone to tag and enjoy via Facebook. (For the record, 150 headshots in a single evening is a LOT!)
So if we attended the event as GroovyDoodle, then why are we talking about it here? Well, for those of you not familiar with it, Cbusr is a free site dedicated to helping Columbus residents meet people who live nearby with similar interests, and their meetups are filled with fantastic networking opportunities for up-and-coming professionals and artists. We met some really great people, and wanted to share them with our business audience in case you’d like to meet them too…
We donated our time to capture the Columbus Children’s Theatre’s annual gala again this year. The event was themed after their Spring musical – Cinderella – with patrons being encouraged to dress the part for a Royal Ball and Feast. The evening was filled with one-of-a-kind photo opportunities that we were proud to capture for one of our long-standing community partners. All in all, we delivered hundreds of photos from the event. Here are just a few of our favorite shots from over the course of the evening…

We’ve been meaning to attend this meetup for quite some time, but this was our first real opportunity to make it to one of their meetups so organizer Jayson Waits wasn’t really familiar with our LightSwitch Creative brand or our photography. We recently sponsored Magic, Comedy & A Cure with some event photographs. The event featured the talented and funny Micheal Kent – Comic, Magician, & Smart@$$ – at the beautiful BoMA now The Bluestone, and was hosted by the Columbus Collective to raise money for cancer research. BoMA is a fantastic venue, and the show was quite a success. Not to mention, the pictures came out pretty nice, if we do say so ourselves. Here are a few of our favorites…
